Jason Whieldon Ready For Challenge

Yesterday Warrior starting quarterback Timmy Chang broke his finger and according to June Jones the new #1 quarterback is Jason Whieldon. Whieldon a junior college transfer from Saddleback Community College will take the offensive reins of the Warriors against Eastern Illinois on August 31st if Chang is unable to play.

Whieldon threw for 2,300 yards and 16 touchdowns last year as an all conference quarterback. In his first practice as a starter Whieldon was up to the challenge.

"I feel like I am getting better and better. I am up to the challange, today was a good practice. I did some things good, some things bad. Especially as a back up quarterback, coming into the season you know your a back up guy and your not going to get a lot of reps. You know you can get thrown in at any time so you have to know what you are doing. So that makes it a little more tough," says Whieldon.

The Warriors did it with Rolovich, now they need to do it with Whieldon.
