Wahine Improve To 2-0

(Honolulu-AP) -- The University of Hawaii women's volleyball team blanked Colorado 30-18, 30-21, 30-22 last night as the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Classic continued at the Stan Sheriff Center. Lily Kahumoku, who sat out last season, led the fourth-ranked Wahine with 13 kills.

Teammate Kim Willoughby added 12 kills, four service aces and 13 digs as UH improved to 2-0. Monique Gerlach had 12 kills and Elizabeth Gower contributed 13 digs for Number 21 Colorado, which dropped to 0-3.

In an earlier match, Number Eleven UCLA downed Number Nine Ohio State 30-25, 30-25, 30-22. The round-robin tournament is set to concluded tonight with Hawaii taking on UCLA.
