The Rainbow Wahine breezed through the Wahine Classic last weekend, just in time for the Imua Challenge this weekend. It's a four team event with Hawaii facing San Francisco in tomorrow night's opener.
Three matches into the season the Wahine are looking pretty good, three wins all against ranked opposition. The big story last week was the return of 2000 first-team All-American Lily Kahumoku. After a year away from volleyball the coach says it's like she never left. But there is some worry about middle blocker Maja Gustin. She's out with an injury to her left foot.
Gustin aside, the Wahine are locked and loaded for the Imua Challenge and so are Hawaii fans. In three matches last weekend over 25,000 fans filed through the Stan Sheriff turnstiles.
