This Saturday are the big match-ups that local prep football fans have been waiting for. Two of the best high school football teams from Hawaii are going toe-to-toe with two of the best teams from California.
Game one of the inter-state showdown has two-time defending state champ Kahuku going up against Long Beach Poly. Long Beach Poly is a team shoulder pads deep in tradition. The Jackrabbits are responsible for more NFL players than any other prep program in the country. They're ranked third in the nation going up against Kahuku, ranked second in Hawaii. The Red Raiders may be 3-0 this season but shaky offensive play has head coach Siuaki Livai just a bit concerned.
In game two the Saint Louis Crusaders have a chance to shock the world. The Saints have a date with De La Salle of Concord, California, a team so good it's ridiculous. De La Salle has won 126 straight games - a streak that's been intact since 1991. They've won four national titles along the way.
The Saints, long regarded as one of the best in the country, now have a chance to take out a team that many feel is the best in the country.
