Quarterback Jason Whieldon was back on the UH practice field this morning. Whieldon left the Warrior team two weeks ago to return home to attend to family business. It was thought his time in Warrior green and black was done...but it wasn't. Whieldon returned to school over the weekend and this morning he practiced with his old teammates.
In Whieldon's abscence, senior Shawn Withy-Allen moved into the two spot at quarterback in place of Whieldon. For now June Jones says that won't change but Whieldon doesn't care.
This morning he said football is an escape and a chance to take his mind off other problems. Whieldon says it won't take him long to get back in a groove. And he says he told his teammates he's back for good.
Next up for the football Warriors is SMU. The Mustangs were stung last year in Dallas by a UH overtime win and are looking to even things up this year.
